Listed Buildings

Works to listed buildings and/or buildings within Conservation Areas or Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty require a depth of knowledge and understanding of planning policy that A & K Architectural Services can provide you with.

Being listed does not mean that alterations cannot be made to your building, but altering or extending in a way which will affect the character requires “listed building consent” from the local planning authority.

Justification will be required for any works you wish to undertake, which we will be able to assist you with in full. Every listed building is unique, as such we work hard to understand the historic importance and value of every listed property we work with to ensure we respect its heritage as well as meeting your development needs. If you would like to discover more about your own listed building please follow this link and type in your address – https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/
