Andy has worked in the construction industry in senior roles for more than 30 years and has over 40 years’ experience in planning, engineering (mechanical, electrical, heating and plumbing) and construction, both as a designer and contractor.
Over his career, he has been recognised for his knowledge and holds memberships with the IET (Institute of Engineering & Technology), CHIPHE (Chartered Institute of Plumbing & Heating Engineers), CMILT (Chartered Member of the Institute of Logistics & Transport) and is SMSTS qualified (Site Management Safety Training Scheme), enabling him to act as a Principal Designer under the CDM Regulations 2015.
He founded A & K Architectural Services in 2005 to support his loft conversion company (at the time), enabling him to offer a ‘turnkey’ design and build service. He has a thorough knowledge of the building regulation standards and the necessary legislation as they apply to residential and commercial buildings alike.
Andy’s simplistic approach and technical expertise has ensured the successful development of hundreds of properties, ensuring budgets are managed and contractors kept on point. Notably, an NHBC appointed specialist remarks to Andy’s expertise; ‘we are not used to having a client who understands the building and the construction process as well as you do’. In his free time Andy likes to restore and ride vintage bikes and travel whenever time will allow.
